Itinerary:
Day 1: Delhi
Arrival in Delhi and transfer to your hotel.
Day 2: Delhi—Chandigarh 5
You’ll visit Old Delhi, its colorful bazaars and its Mughal monuments, including the Red Fort and red-stone mosque. Transfer in the late afternoon to the train station to catch the Shatabdi express to Chandigarh, the famous city built by the French architect Le Corbusier.
Day 3: Chandigarh--Shimla (2000m) 3-4
After a short visit to the stone garden of Chandigarh, a private bus will take us to Shimla the former summer capital of the British Empire.
Day 4: Shimla
Today, you’ll get a chance to enjoy Shimla’s colonial architecture. You’ll visit the museum with its Pahari paintings, as well as the residence of the former Viceroy of India, now an educational institute, and The Mall, the main street in Shimla. In the afternoon, we’ll set off for the Indian ski resort of Kufri, then we’ll go to Nalrehda, founded by Lord Curzon, where you can play a round of golf!
Day 5: Shimla—Sarahan (2,165m) 175km 7-8
We’ll drive along the Sutlej river, passing through the cities of Rampur and Nirth. We’ll stop off at the superb village of Sarahan and its magnificent half-timbered temple dedicated to the local god Bhimakali.
Overnight stay at the guest house inside the temple, if possible. 
Day 6: Sarahan—Sangla (2,680m) 95km 4-5 
We’ll take a very scenic road to get to Kinnaur and the typical village of Sangla. You’ll also stroll through the pedestrian village of Batseri.
Day 7: Sangla 
We’ll visit the exquisite Kinnauri villages of Chitkul, Rakcham and Kamru. The local wooden architecture is set against a stunning backdrop of green valleys. Rumor has it that the Kinnauri women, with their traditional velvet hats, are the most beautiful to be found anywhere!
Day 8: Sangla—Rarang (2,700m) 105km 4-5 
We’ll continue along the Sutlej river and visit Ribba, a large Kinnauri village. Then, we’ll make an excursion to Kanum, a major Buddhist center founded by the great wise man, Rinchen Zongpo, in the 11th century. Here, you’ll see a blend between Hindu and Buddhist cultures.
Day 9: Rarang—Tabo (3,050m) 6-7 
We’ll leave the greenery of Kinnaur to enter the mineral landscape of the Spiti Valley, a landmark site for Tibetan Buddhism. At Tabo, you’ll admire the 1,000-year-old monastery with its unusual shape, modeled on a meditation diagram. This is one of the most important religious sites outside Tibet. Its interior is decorated in a style reminiscent of the Jokhang temple in Lhasa. The Dalai Lama regularly visits Tabo for religious teachings. A must-see! First day of camping!
Day 10: Tabo—Shego (3,600m) 110km 6-7
Today we'll see the Pin Valley, famous for its fauna, such as the ibex and snow leopard. We’ll visit the original gompa of Kungri, built by Guru Padmasambhava. We’ll also see Dankar and its beautiful Buddhist paintings (or ‘tangkas’).
Day 11: Shego 
We’ll stop at several hilltop villages in Spiti, all above 4,000m in altitude. We’ll visit Hikkim, famous for its fossils revealing the formation of the Himalayas, then Ki, the oldest and most significant monastery in the region.
Day 12: Shego—Badarpul 140km 7-8
We’ll travel to Batal and from there we’ll follow a small trail to the Chandratal lake (4,270m). We’ll go over the Kunzum Pass (4,551m) to enjoy a breathtaking panorama of the snowcapped mountains and their glaciers.
Day 13: Badarpul—Sarchu (4,250m) 70km 6-7
We’ll leave Spiti via the Barachala pass (4,830m) and enter Lahul. Overnight stay in a fixed camp.
Day 14: Sarchu—Hemis (3,500m) 200km 
We’ll need to cross three high passes before reaching Leh. We may encounter some Changpas nomads leading their yak herds. After the Taglang pass, we’ll see villages with many Stupas. We’ve now entered the Ladakh region.
Day 15: Hemis—Phyang (3,500m) 
Today we visit Hemis, the largest and most famous monastery in Ladakh, then we drive onto Tiksey monastery, whose chief abbot is the Dalai Lama’s brother. Today we’ll be staying at a traditional guest house in the typical Ladakhi village of Phyang.
Day 16: Phyang
We’ll visit Phyang monastery, then we’ll hit the road to see the monastery museum of Alchi, famous for its 11th-century frescoed walls. We drive back to Phyang.
Day 17: Leh
Before we reach Leh, we’ll make a stop at Spituk. Free time to explore the bazaars of Leh and buy souvenirs.
Day 18: Leh—Delhi
to Delhi and transfer to your hotel. Free afternoon for shopping,
etc.
Day 19: Transfer to the airport for your international flight.
Best season: Mid-June to September
At certain dates, you can attend festivals in various monasteries. These dates change every summer. We’ll post them on our website in the latest news. We can offer you extra trip to Agra to see the Tajmahal.
