Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival at Delhi international airport and transfer to your hotel.
Day 2: Today, you’ll visit Old Delhi and see its Mughal monuments and main street Chandni Chowk.
to Amritsar in the late afternoon.
Day 3: Amritsar—Chamba 235km 7-8 
You’ll discover the holy city of the Sikhs and the famous golden temple. Then we’ll leave Punjab via a new road for a scenic drive alongside the Himalayan ranges of Pir Panjal and Zanskar. Chamba is a hill town renowned for its beautiful Pahari-style Hindu temples.
Day 4: Chamba—Bharmour—Chamba 130km 4-5
We’ll explore Bharmour, inhabited by semi-nomadic people and famous for the variety of its numerous temples.
Day 5: Chamba—Dharamsala (1,387m) 127km 5-6
Today, we arrive in the Kangra Valley. We’ll visit Dalhousie, a hill resort built by the British, before reaching McLeod Ganj in upper Dharamsala, home to the headquarters of the Tibetan government-in-exile and the Dalai Lama.
Day 6: Dharamsala
Today, we’ll visit the Dalai Lama’s temple, the Norbulingka institute (set up to preserve Tibetan culture and arts), and the Tibetan center for medicine and astrology. We’ll walk to the Bhagsunath Hindu temple and waterfall located in the pine forest.
Day 7: Dharamsala—Palampur (1,149m) 165km 7-8
We’ll set off to view the ancient temple of Masrur, followed by Kangra Fort, which was conquered by Mughal emperor Jahangir. We’ll also stop by Jwalaji, a Hindu pilgrimage site. Later, we’ll arrive at Palampur, renowned for its colonial architecture, its tea and rice plantations, and its beautiful panorama of the Dhauladar range.
Day 8: Palampur—Manali (2,000m) 198km 8-9
We’ll continue onto Baijnath, famous for its unique temple dedicated to Parvati, wife of Shiva and mother of the Himalayas. We’ll make a stop in Bir, a Tibetan refugee village, then we’ll see the Tashi Jong monastery and the works of Sobha Singh, a Sikh painter. We’ll also visit Sherab Ling Gompa, whose monks were awarded a Grammy for their Buddhist chants. Lastly, we’ll arrive in Manali, a popular spot for Indian honeymooners.
Day 9: Manali (2,000m)
We’ll drive to Naggar village to view the castle and art gallery of the Russian painter and philosopher Nicolas Roerich. We’ll visit old Manali and its Hadimba temple, then Vashisht, renowned for its temple and hot springs.
Day 10: Manali—Jispa (3,142m) 147km 7-8
We’ll leave the greenery of Manali to cross the Rohtang Pass (3,900m) and explore the Lahul district.
Day 11: Jispa—Sarchu 75km 3-4
We’ll pass through Darcha, the departure point for the Zanskar trek, before crossing the Baracha La pass (4,800m). The scenery will become rockier and you’ll be astonished by the diverse colors of the stones. You’ll spend the night in a fixed camp - a new experience!
Day 12 Sarchu—Hemis (3,500m)
We’ll cross over three high passes before reaching the Ladakhi capital, Leh. You’ll be amazed by the moon-like landscape, where rocks have eroded over millions of years to form a scenery that is unique worldwide. Along this breathtaking drive, we may encounter some Changpas nomads leading their yak herds. The abundance of Stupas will make it very clear that we’re on Buddhist land now!
Day 13: Hemis—Phyang 
Today we’ll visit Hemis, the largest monastery in Ladakh.Then, we’ll explore the typical Ladakhi village of Phyang.
Overnight stay in a private guest house.
Day 14: Phyang 
We’ll visit the museum of Alchi, a UNESCO world heritage site, famous for its 11th-century Kashmiri frescoes. Then, we drive to the Stok Palace Museum, and the Tiksey monastery, whose chief abbot is the Dalai Lama’s brother.
Day 15: Leh
On the way back to Leh, we’ll visit the Spituk monastery and attend a performance of traditional Ladakhi dances and songs near the royal palace.
Day 16: Leh—Delhi
to Delhi. Transfer to your hotel. Free time then transfer to Delhi airport.
Best season: Mid-June to September
