This is one of the great classic treks of all time. To make a success of this trip, you just need to follow one simple rule: take it easy! Even if you’re not a seasoned hiker, you’ll make it, to be rewarded with a spectacular panorama of the world’s highest peak. You’ll climb up to the Pumori Ridge, where you’ll marvel at the breathtaking view of sunrise on Mount Everest!

Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to your hotel, where you’ll have time to settle in.
Day 2: Guided tour of Kathmandu and its valley.
Day 3: Lukla (2,840m)—Phakding (2,800m) 4
to Lukla, arriving in the morning. We’re now in Sherpa country. An easy walk today.
Day 4: Phakding (2,800m)—Namche Bazaar (3,500m) 6
You’ll stroll through the various Sherpa villages before making a long ascent to reach Namche Bazaar, the capital of the Solu-Khumbu region.
Day 5: Namche (3,500m)—Thame (3,600m) 5
Today will be our first acclimatization day. Namche village is home to many Everest summiteers and you can meet them in their own lodge. You’ll also visit a charming monastery.
Day 6: Thame (3,600m)—Khumjung (3,780m) 5
Early today, we’ll reach Khumjung, the village that was so dear to Edmund Hillary’s heart. Why not visit his first school and the local ‘Gompa’ (monastery), where you can view the famous yeti skull? You’ll take in a magnificent view of Khumbila peak, which is sacred to the Sherpas.
Day 7: Khumjung (3,780m)—Deboche (3,710m) 6
You’ll get your first glimpse of the magical Ama Dablam mountain.
Day 8: Deboche (3,710m)—Dingboche (4,410m) 5
We’ll visit the Pangboche Gompa, one of the oldest in the Khumbu region. You can admire the fantastic views of Island Peak, Chukhung Ri and Ama Dablam.
Day 9: Dingboche (4,410m) 3.30
Our second acclimatization day. We’ll walk along the Chukhung Valley and get a close-up view of Ama Dablam (6,856m) or climb up to 5,000m for a great vista of Makalu peak (8,000m).
Day 10: Dingboche (4,410m)—Lobuche (4,910m) 5
Today we reach the Everest valley, surrounded by the beautiful mountains of Tawoche, Nuptse and Lhotse. We may even get up-close and personal with the local yaks!
Day 11: Lobuche (4,910m)—Gorakshep (5,140m) 3
Now we can really feel the high altitude, so some well-earned rest is planned for the afternoon.
Day 12: Gorakshep—Kalapattar (5,550m)—Pheriche (4,240m) 7
You’ll experience sunset over Everest’s summit from Kalapattar Peak on the Pumori Ridge. We’ll descend slowly to an easier altitude near the National Mountain Altitude Center, where doctors are available for emergencies.
Day 13: Pheriche (4,270m)—Deboche (3,710m) 4
An easy trekking day, giving you a chance to recover from all your hard efforts.
Day 14: Deboche (3,710m)—Namche Bazaar (3,500m)
We’ll visit the Tengboche monastery, famous for the Mani Rimdu festival.
Day 15: Namche Bazaar (3,500m)—Phakding (2,800m) 4
We continue our descent today.
Day 16: Phakding (2,800m)—Lukla (2,840m) 3
Get ready for a night of celebration with our Sherpas!
Day 17: Lukla (2,840m)—Kathmandu Departure by flight to Kathmandu and transfer to your hotel. Free afternoon.
Day 18: Free time to visit the numerous sites of Kathmandu Valley.
Day 19: Shopping day.
Day 20: Airport transfer. As you return home, your mind will be brimming with great memories. |
