ANNAPURNA SANCTUARY 
The legendary trek |

A short trek, accessible to all, leading you to the heart of the Annapurna peaks. You’ll experience a mini-kaleidoscope of Nepal with its traditional villages, terraced fields, bamboo and rhododendron forests, and magical mountains.
Maximum altitude: 4000m
Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu, welcome and transfer to your hotel
Day 2: Guided tour of Kathmandu.
Day 3: Kathmandu—Birethanti (1100m) 6
We set off early morning to Pokhara then Nayapul. Easy walk up to Birethanti. 0.30
Day 4: Birethanti (1100m)—Gandrung (1960m) 5.30
We climb the famous Nepali steps from the Shaule Bazaar to reach the traditional Gurung village of Gandrung.
Day 5: Gandrung (1960m)—Chomrong (1960m) 6
Chomrong is the last village you’ll encounter before entering the sanctuary. You’ll be rewarded with beautiful mountains like Annapurna South, Hiunchuli and Macchapuchare (the mystical ‘fish tail’ peak).
Day 6: Chomrong (1960m)—Doban (2495m) 6
We’ll cross the Modi Khola river and spend the day ascending through a thick bamboo forest.
Day 7: Doban (2495m)—Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3700m) 6
Today you’ll experience a change of scenery with sub-alpine vegetation. The valley opens up. Nighttime at the base camp.
Day 8: MBC (3700m)—Annapurna Base Camp (4000m)—Doban (2495m) 6
We set off early to admire the sunrise at the Annapurna South base camp.
Day 9: Doban (2495m)—Jhinu (1400m) 6
We’ll leave the sanctuary to get down to a more tropical climate.
Day 10: Jhinu (1400m)—Landrung (1650m) 6
Enjoy a dip in the hot springs this morning before going to the Gurung village of Landrung.
Day 11: Landrung—Dhampus (1700m) 6
Today we walk on a beautiful trail looking at terraced fields and typical Gurung villages. We have some up and down hiking. We’ll celebrate our last night in the mountains, singing and dancing with our local staff.
Day 12: Dhampus (1700m)—Phedi (1127m) 2 
We’ll make a steep descent to Phedi and we have a short drive to Pokhara. Free time and a night in Pokhara by the lake.
Day 13: Flight to Kathmandu. On arrival, transfer to your 3 star hotel.
Day 14: Free time in Kathmandu before your transfer to the airport. |
